Every fall, the Canadian Dairy Commission (CDC) holds consultations on milk prices with dairy producers, processors, further processors, restauranteurs and consumers. The CDC then takes a decision on the farmgate price of milk and the support prices which are usually announced by mid-December and becomes effective on February 1st of the following year.
